Reducing our carbon footprint

At Harris Lipman, we are very conscious of our responsibility towards the environment and are actively taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint:

  • We are reducing the amount of paper we use by storing more of our documents online, and encourage our staff to only print copies of documents or emails if absolutely necessary.
  • We send information to clients using email or our secure document exchange, in order to save on paper.
  • As far as possible, we always use 80 percent recycled paper in all our printed publications.
  • We use telephone and video conferencing to communicate with clients, reducing the need to travel to clients’ offices, or for them to travel to us.
  • We save energy by ensuring lights and computers are switched off at night and heating is not left on for any longer than necessary.
  • Energy efficiency is a major consideration when purchasing new equipment for the office.
  • We are constantly investigating ways to reduce the amount of rubbish we thrown away, and recycle as much as possible:
    • We recycle our paper rubbish, which is collected weekly by a dedicated company.
    • All the bottles of water supplied as refreshments to our clients and team members are recycled.
    • We also recycle all our batteries and items such as dictating machines.
  • Employees are encouraged to walk, cycle, car share and use public transport where possible.
