Harris Lipman client proves he has the magic touch
22/07/2011
London-based chartered accountancy firm Harris Lipman has congratulated one of its clients – after he fooled two of the world’s most renowned magicians on primetime television and secured himself a spot on stage in Las Vegas.
Nick Einhorn wowed American magicians Penn and Teller when he performed a trick in front of them on ITV1’s Fool Us on Saturday, 16 July.
The act, which was also performed in front of a studio audience, as well as 3.2 million viewers, saw Nick inviting a random woman from the audience to choose a further three men to participate in the trick. The men were each asked their name and then given a badge displaying it. They were also given envelopes at random, which were later switched at the request of the woman who had picked them out of the audience.
Each man was then allocated a numbered table on the stage at random, each with a covered dish on top. When invited to open their envelopes, each man found a description giving their name, the table they were sitting at and the correct dish that had been covered up.
Penn and Teller were unable to guess how Nick had performed the trick, meaning he now goes on to perform alongside the duo in Las Vegas later in the coming months. The performance will be filmed for broadcast on a Christmas special.
A Harris Lipman client, Nick also devised the firm’s successful ‘Lipman Logic’ Apple iPhone app, which asks the user to think of a number and then correctly guesses it.
Nick is also in-demand for professional functions, with recent performances including at an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) dinner in June.
Senior partner Barry Lewis said: “Even before he became a client, we were familiar with Nick’s exceptional talents as a magician. For him to be able to fool two of the world’s best known magicians and win a place performing with them in Las Vegas is a dream come true for him.
“On behalf of everyone at the firm, I would like to congratulate Nick on his success and wish him all the best when he jets off to Las Vegas – it is thoroughly deserved.”
