Martina Fitzgerald Becomes Partner at Harris Lipman

North London Chartered Accountancy firm and Insolvency Practitioners Harris Lipman has promoted Head of Tax Martina Fitzgerald to Tax Partner, becoming the 11th Partner at the firm.

Martina joined Harris Lipman in 2006, bringing with her 17 years of experience as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), including seven years with PricewaterhouseCoopers and six with Grant Thornton.

During her time with the firm, she has seen both her role and the role of the tax department expand significantly, with the size of the team increasing from four to seven.  The more traditional type work such tax compliance is now complimented by tax planning and tax investigation work.

Martina said: “When I joined Harris Lipman, I saw the opportunity to play a major role in developing the tax side of the business. The partners here were so enthusiastic about wanting to grow the practice and take it forward, and I felt I could play a part in that.

“Being at Harris Lipman is very different to my previous roles in that being part of a smaller firm, the advice provided to clients is much more rounded and tailored to their particular needs.  For most of our clients, we provide services through our Business Support Services team which gives us an in-depth understanding of our client’s affairs and we therefore can provide tailored individual advice to our clients.  

“Going forward, I will be working on projects to broaden the tax service provided by Harris Lipman.  As tax is an ever-evolving area, I believe clients are now looking for new ideas in respect of tax planning and I am looking forward to creating tax-efficient solutions to meet their needs.”
