Harris Lipman On Insolvency Awards Shortlist
11/09/2009
Harris Lipman is celebrating a further accolade after making the final shortlist for the Mid-Size Firm of the Year category at this year’s Insolvency and Rescue Awards.
Now in their second year, the Insolvency and Rescue Awards – organised by Credit Today magazine – are designed to reward good practice in the industry.
Harris Lipman greatly expanded its insolvency department during the recession of the early 1990s, and it is now considered one of the leading firms of its size, being called on to carry out insolvency, liquidation and business turnaround proceedings at companies around the UK, in fields as diverse as furniture-making, road haulage, printing and the restaurant trade.
In 1998 the firm acquired an insolvency office in Cardiff, further expanding the company’s presence in this line of work. That office is run by licensed insolvency practitioner John Cullen, who was this year elected President of the South Wales members network of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Earlier this year, the firm was also named one of the rising stars of the accountancy world, by making the year’s list of the 50 most successful ‘up and coming’ firms, published by Accountancy Age magazine.
Harris Lipman senior partner Barry Lewis said: “To be shortlisted as one of the leading insolvency practitioners of our size is a great honour, and a tribute to the hard work of our team here.
“Over recent years, we have made a concerted effort to expand our presence in that sector, which has definitely paid off. We’re now eagerly anticipating the results next month.”
The overall winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on 21 October.
